2020 has been a funny old year. Normally the last Friday before Christmas, or 'Mad Friday' as it's generally known, is pretty bloody bonkers. Manchester town centre is heaving, the bars and clubs rammed from 4pm onwards with workers celebrating the last weekend and perhaps the last day of work before the Christmas break. 

This year however, some of us have had a third of the year off, so in 2020 Christmas doesn't seem like the welcome break it has in previous years. There's also the fact that everything is shut. Everything. The city centre bars, the clubs, even the hotels have closed their doors to comply with Tier 3 restrictions. So it's fair to say that this year Mad Friday might not be quite so mad. 

So. No parties, no shenanigans and no drunken tomfoolery around Manchester city centre. There's always next year... 

But hey - it's not so bad. We're basically being asked to stay at home, drink beer and watch Netflix. It could be worse - there could be a war on.
