Secrets Escorts is currently hiring for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Telephonist/ Switchboard Operator to join our dynamic team at our offices, located in the heart of Manchester. About the Role:
This position offers a great work-life balance with an overnight shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling around 24 hours per week. The role also provides the opportunity for additional holiday cover if desired. You'll be responsible for handling phone calls, managing the switchboard, and supporting a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout the night.
As a part-time position, you’ll have the flexibility to balance other commitments while earning competitive pay, which includes a generous, target-driven bonus based on performance. You will receive full training to help you get up to speed, so even if you're new to switchboard or call handling, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage incoming calls, providing excellent customer service.
Handle switchboard operations, ensuring calls are answered promptly and professionally.
Provide general office support and administrative assistance as needed.
Maintain a calm and organised approach under pressure, especially during busy periods.
Ensure smooth operations overnight, maintaining communication with the team and management.
Essential Criteria:
To be successful in this role, we require the following:
Reliability: You must be able to demonstrate an outstanding attendance record in your current or previous roles.
Excellent knowledge of Manchester & the North West: You will need to have a solid understanding of the local area to efficiently direct calls and support logistical needs.
Interpersonal skills: You should have exceptional communication and customer service skills to engage with callers in a professional manner.
Phone manner: A confident, professional phone demeanor is essential, with the ability to stay organised, calm, and professional even when under pressure.
Attention to detail: You must have strong organisational skills to ensure smooth operations during your shift.
Desirable Qualities:
While not required, the following qualities are a plus:
Female only! (Due to the nature of the role and team dynamic, this position is open to female applicants aged 40+).
Previous experience in sales, taxiing, logistics, switchboard, or receptionist roles, with a strong background in call handling.
Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Pages, and web-based systems. Familiarity with email communication and the use of phones/ call handling is also advantageous.
